

ROME: Italian tourism media outlets highlighted the Sultanate of Oman’s attractions, development projects, and diverse tourism experiences in their coverage of the visit of Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, to the Italian Republic. The coverage included the minister’s meetings with representatives of the tourism sector and Italian media, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the fields of heritage and museums.
Alessandro Giuli, Minister of Culture of Italy, said that the signing of the MoU between the Sultanate of Oman and the Italian Republic in the fields of cultural heritage and museums opens a new chapter of cooperation between the two countries and lays the foundation for joint initiatives in the field of heritage.
In a post on Instagram, the minister pointed to the deep-rooted friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and Italy, saying that it is based on thousands of years of cultural exchange and a shared approach built on dialogue and peacebuilding.
The Italian minister of culture said that the memorandum of understanding paves the way for enhanced cooperation in preserving the cultural heritage of both countries and developing joint initiatives in the areas of protection, restoration, and showcasing cultural heritage adding that will support cultural partnership and promote awareness of the richness of their shared heritage.
The minister’s post highlights Italy's interest in developing cultural cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman and the MoU’s role as a foundation for expanding joint work in the fields of heritage and museums, and deepening cultural ties between the two countries.
The minister stressed the Sultanate of Oman’s focus on developing a sustainable tourism sector that combines the preservation of cultural and natural heritage with the diversification of products and services and the expansion of investment opportunities. He underscored the importance of the Italian market and the strengthening of partnerships with those working in the travel and tourism industry.
In a report titled ‘Oman: A Tourism Boom Amidst New Agreements and Major Projects,’ the trade publication GuidaViaggi’ covered the meeting of the minister of heritage and tourism with the Italian press in Rome, highlighting his message inviting visitors to discover the Sultanate of Oman and enjoy its authenticity, natural beauty and hospitality of the Sultanate of Oman.
The publication highlighted the importance of the visit in strengthening partnerships with the Italian tourism industry, introducing development plans that support the tourism sector’s role in achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, and highlighting the attractions that distinguish the Sultanate of Oman, most notably its nature, authenticity, and high-quality hospitality.
Travel Quotidiano published a report titled ‘Oman: New Investments to Expand Tourism Offerings,’ which covered the presentations made by the minister of culture and heritage during his meeting Italian journalists in Rome, in the presence of HH Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda al Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Italian Republic, with the participation of the Oman Tourism Representation Office in Italy.
The report highlighted the Sultanate of Oman’s focus on investment and diversifying its tourism offerings through the development of accommodation facilities and infrastructure, promoting sustainability, and providing experiences linked to the diversity of destinations, from the mountainous regions to the coasts and the south of the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
